Pie Crust
1 c. flour
1/2 c. crisco
dash salt
pinch of baking powder
4 T. ice water

mix lightly



I don't remember my Grandma ever making pies, but I love the recipe, short and to the point. She wrote in the corner, Bernice, my great Grandmother, her Mother in law. When you think about how inexpensive a crust is to make, you can see why it was a popular dessert to make. I can imagine Bernice showed her a favorite pie recipe. I know how important it was to her to be a great housewife and to make everyone happy, and she probably learned a lot from her Mother and Mother in law,

 I have never been much of a pie person, it is something about the mushy fruit that bothers me. I do however love pecan pie and pumpkin pie.
